about

robertaglass

ROBERTAGLASS is the design label and trademark of Australian based New Zealand designer Roberta Glass. The label was launched in September 2000 and was first picked up by iconic Sydney fashion stores, Empire Personal and The Corner Shop.

Harvey Sutton from Selfridges in London discovered the label at Empire Personal describing it as “poetic and passionate”. The label has since developed a niche position in the lingerie market with a reputation for quality and skilful design. ROBERTAGLASS lingerie is designed and manufactured entirely in Australia.

Our aim is to produce beautifully made lingerie with classic styling using soft, quality fabrics and laces. We take the utmost care to design lingerie that graces and flatters the body. We search for unusually beautiful fabrics and laces to inspire new designs and often incorporate vintage pieces into limited production runs.

inspiration

"As a child I was inspired by my mother’s unique style and developed an early fascination with clothes and fashion. I began sketching designs at a young age and spent hours with my mother exploring books and visiting exhibitions on the history of clothes."

"There's an image from an old movie we watched of a beautifully dressed woman receiving a slender package, opening it and discarding layers and layers of tissue paper to finally draw out the slinkiest of slips."

"The style and glamour of the post-war hollywood period is a recurrent theme in my collections".
